Observations

Welcome, educators! In this guide, we'll explore the realm of observations using Digital Childcare.

Discover how this tool empowers you to document and track the developmental journey of each child under your care. Let's embark on a journey of insightful observation practices to enhance your childcare experience.

To start, navigate to the "Learning" tab and click on "Observations."

On the main observation page, you'll find essential information such as the child's name, room, and more.

When searching through the observations, educators can filter by either the child's name or the rooms.

Once an observation is completed, it will stay as a draft until the administrator reviews and approves it. If an educator needs to review approved observations, simply click the tab beside "Approved," select "Yes" or "No," and then click "OK."

To create a new observation, click on the button labeled "New Observation."

A new window will appear, allowing educators to enter the child's name, the observation details, and the date and time.

After entering all the observation details, click on "Skills" to add any relevant skill domains.

For a quicker search through the skills, an educator can filter based on the framework they want to use or through the domain.

The final step in completing an observation is for educators to add an image, video, or document to enhance the observation record.

To submit the observation for approval, simply click on "Create" when you are ready.

Congratulations, educators! You've completed the guide on creating observations using Digital Childcare.  Stay tuned for more guides to further enrich your experience with Digital Childcare.
